About 4 months ago I pulled the motor to do a variety of things.

At that time I had a pair of less than 600 miles AMS O2 sensors on the shelf that I decided to use to cut costs.

About a month ago, I have noticed off gas idle fluctuations and EGT variances between the 2 banks. I have dual wideband and dual EGT. On gas situations both sides evened out.

I did boost leak and fuel pressure checks and noticed nothing off. Throwing on the conzult - I noticed that the AMS 02 on the passenger side did not oscillate like the FSM says it should post warm up. No problem - PITA - but I replaced it with an OEM unit.
Both sides were even in all measurements on gauges. Problem solved.

About a week ago I noticed the same thing - wide bands didn't sync up off gas - but on gas fine and EGTs were about 50 degrees Celsius variance in off gas situations.

So I replaced the driver side with a factory O2 today and all is good. I imagine the eventually I would have had ruff idle issues and the sort - but I am pretty in tune with my Z and have enough gauges to monitor the space ship so I caught this early.

That being said - kicking myself because I know about the quality of AMS stuff based on what I read on the forums and I honestly believe that you get what you pay for.

That being said, would this create a catastrophic failure --NO -- but it does create some interesting fact finding when you are trying to tune for a smooth idle.

I can't speak to other experience. I highly recommend for folks to get widebands ..preferrably dual widebands.
